Today, the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) issued a statement on the occasion of September 16, the anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî. Women, Life, Freedom” uprising in Rojhelat (East Kurdistan) and Iran.

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) stated: "We support the demonstrators and activists, and we also condemn the attacks launched on the demonstrators".

The statement continued, “We are now commemorating the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî”, “Women, Life, Freedom”revolution, as the Iranian people prepare for the anniversary of the September 16 uprising, and the political parties in eastern Kurdistan unanimously issue the same call and this general agreement of the Kurdish forces pleases us, and we call on all Kurdistanis and the people of Iran to participate in the activities to commemorate the anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî”, “Women, Life, Freedom”revolution. We also call on the democratic forces in the world not to leave the people of Iran alone".
