Preparatory Committee praises the interaction of the attendees with the topics raised

This came during the assessment of a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Regional Women's Conference, and a member of the Nada Alliance, Hanan Othman, of the work of the conference, which was organized over the course of Friday and Saturday (18-19 August), under the title "On Huda: Women - Life - Freedom", in The Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The conference included three main sessions. The first and second sessions of the first day discussed "the repercussions of the interventions of the world system that dominates women in the region in the third millennium," and "the experiences of Kurdish women on how to get out of the region's crises."

In the third session of the second and final day, it dealt with "the vision of the companion of the path of women, the thinker Abdullah Ocalan, and his role in escalating the struggle for women's freedom," so the conference ended with a closing statement.

Hanan Othman said, "The first day of the conference presented the crises facing women in the world," stressing the similarity of women's suffering in the four parts of Kurdistan, "in terms of the Turkish targeting of women's leadership, the killing of women up to Paris, and the attacks on nature and women together."

She explained that "nature and women are twins, so targeting women is targeting nature, so Turkey targets the mountains, lands, plains and trees in Kurdistan, and also targets women, because they are the ones who preserve the land, agriculture and nature."

Hanan Othman indicated that "the impact of political forces and capitalist hegemony on the movements of women's organizations, and the achievements of women regionally and in Kurds" was also discussed, as well as how "these forces unite to strike and thwart women's achievements."

She said, "Therefore, among the recommendations was the need to create a unified feminist front to repel these unified authoritarian attacks against women."

With regard to the second and last day of the conference, a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Regional Women's Conference, Hanan Othman, said that she touched on the pioneering theses of the leader Abdullah Ocalan in the field of women's liberation, which were a model, examples and a road map for the organizations and associations that were present at the conference, and were like Illuminating the path of women's struggle, "not only for Kurdish women, but also for the women of the region in general, and for those present at the conference."

"Jinology (women's science) was also discussed, and among the recommendations was the dissemination of these ideas, and this science that will help and support women's struggles for liberation," said Hanan Othman.

She pointed out that there was a discussion about "the legal reality, arbitrary detention and illegal isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, for nearly a quarter of a century, and how the Turkish state invokes flimsy arguments not to give Ocalan the right to hope for the release of him and the detainees, by imposing" penalties disciplinary "their right to not enjoy this right."

She noted what the participants stressed in the conference, such as "the need to carry out strategic campaigns to pressure the concerned countries and human rights organizations, especially the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) and Amnesty International, to release the prisoner of thought and opinion, the UN leader Ocalan, and all political detainees," And his role in achieving women's freedom when he said: "My efforts in the march of women's freedom have not yet been completed," because of his continued detention.

She drew attention to the fact that the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azad, Women, Life, Freedom" was "remarkable and influential to those present at the conference today, as the reactions were positive with the need to confront the Turkish state and the forces that help this country, such as the European Union and the world powers." Which has economic benefits with it, so it turns a blind eye to international laws and conventions in favor of these interests.
