K. Star recalls the martyr Zilan (Zainab Kanaji)

Today, the Kongra Star in the city of Hasaka organized a memorial ceremony for the martyr, Zilan, who carried out a commando operation against the Turkish occupation army in Dersim, Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) in 1996.

The memorial ceremony, which was held at the Democratic Union Party (PYD) center located in the Ghweran neighborhood, was attended by dozens of Kongra Star members and members from all civil centers and institutions in the city.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence glorifying the martyrs, then the administrator of Kongra Star, Halabja Abdo, spoke about the first commando operation carried out by the fighter Zilan against the army of the Turkish occupation state.

She emphasized that the martyr Zilan, with her courage and guerrilla operation, turned into a fountain of freedom and a platform for heroism and redemption in the history of the Kurdish struggle against the state of conspiracies, occupations and massacres. She also confirmed that her guerrilla operation became an example to be followed by all women yearning for freedom.

At the end of her speech, Halajba pledged to escalate the struggle and follow the path of the fighter Zilan to reach women's freedom.

After completing the speeches, the administrator of Kongra Star, Media Al-Ali, read the message of the fighter Zilan before her martyrdom, which she presented to the leader Abdullah Ocalan.
