​​​​​NE Syria people: We will make their memory new motive for struggle

On June 20, an armed drone belonging to the Turkish occupation state targeted a car of the Qamishlo Canton Council, resulting in the martyrdom of the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, and the deputy co-chair of the Council, Lyman Shweish, and Council member Furat Toma, in addition to the injury of the co-chair of the council, Gaby Shimon.

Today, hundreds of residents of the city of Derik and the villages of Kocharat and Barav, as well as representatives of the institutions and councils in Derik, went in mass demonstration.

After the demonstrators arrived to the central market, they observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs. Then, Wasfia Murad, the administrator of Kongra Star in Derik, delivered a speech offering condolences to the families of the martyrs of the massacre.

Wasfia stressed that the Turkish attacks will not deter them from the struggle and resistance as women, but rather strengthen their solidarity in the face of the extermination plans that are being pursued against the people of NE Syria.

In conclusion, she called for escalating the struggle and protecting the gains of the revolution that were achieved thanks to the struggle and sacrifices of its sons and daughters, and ended her speech by saying, "Let us make their memory a new motive for achieving victory by organizing our ranks".

Tirbespiyê

In Tirbespiyê district, Kongra Star organized, in the same context, a demonstration under the slogan "Organizing Women is a response to the occupation's attacks", the components of the district, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, representatives of political parties, Kongra Star members, and representatives of civil and security institutions and councils in Tirbespiyê, participated in it.

The demonstration started in front of the Martyrs' Families Council building in Tirbespiyê, amidst the demonstrators raising pictures of the martyrs of the massacre committed on the Qamishlo-Tirbespiyê road.

After the demonstrators arrived to the center of the central market in Tirbespiyê, Kongra Star member Muntaha al-Mahmoud said: "The Turkish occupation's attacks on our regions target our will and our strength through the pioneers of the cause of women's liberation and the Autonomous Administration, which represents all components in NE Syria".

Muntaha stressed, "The attacks will not discourage women from continuing on the path of the martyrs until peace and victory are achieved for the people of the region.
