 Despite the unjust siege imposed on the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh and the Shahba district by the Damascus government, hope is renewed with Newroz, as the people of the two neighborhoods are preparing to celebrate Newroz, under the slogan "With the spirit of Newroz resistance, we liberate the leader Ocalan and defeat the occupation."

 Eyewitnesses from Raqqa recounted the events of the attack by the security forces affiliated with the Baath Party on the children of the people during the celebration of the Newroz holiday in 2010, in which a man was killed and dozens of injured, stressing that what happened on that day is a painful scene and will be recorded in the pages of history.
