Leaders of political parties affirmed that education in the mother tongue is a legitimate right of the Kurdish people, calling for official recognition of the Kurdish language in the Syrian constitution and guarantees of the right of all communities to receive education in their own languages and preserve their cultures. Olive farmers in Homs Governorate fear that their crops will be stolen when the olives ripen, prompting some of them to harvest early at the expense of the quantity and quality of the oil.
