KNK extends its condolences to SDF

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), through a telegram addressed to the Syrian Democratic Forces, expressed its condolences over the martyrdom of 9 of SDF fighters.

"Within the framework of combating ISIS cells, a unit of the anti-terrorism units of the Syrian Democratic Forces headed to Başûr Kurdistan, with the aim of exchanging security and military expertise, and raising the level of fighting and security for the units in order to continue their duties in combating terrorism and protecting the people of NE Syria.

While this unit was heading to the city of Sulaymaniya on the evening of 15th of March, two helicopters that were transporting fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces to Sulaymaniya fell due to bad weather conditions; As a result, 9 male and female fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces were martyred, led by Shervan Kobani, the commander of the Anti-Terrorism Units.

The counter-terrorism units provided many fighters and commanders in the counter-terrorism war, and fought fierce battles from Kobani to Raqqa and Deir al-Zor.

These forces are trained in advanced methods of war and are the main ally of the international coalition. Under the leadership of Shervan Kobani and his comrades, it achieved many results in the anti-terror war, and achieved successive victories in the cities and towns of NE Syria, and fought in the name of the world the most powerful terrorist organization that threatened the security and stability of the region and the world.

We, as Kurdistan National Congress, offer our condolences to the families of the martyrs and to our entire people. We affirm that the sacrifice of these martyrs will illuminate the path of continuing the struggle and defending our people and their sacred land."
