Mahmoud Othman: KCK's Initiative is very important, but Turkey does not want peace

Kurdish politician Mahmoud Othman, speaking to Roj News Agency's questions about the situation in Turkey and the Kurdish issue, and the impact of the earthquake on Turkish politics and the Turkish presidential elections.

Othman said: "The position of the Kurdistan community Union is very important, because a great disaster befell the people. Yes, Erdogan's house was not destroyed in the disaster, but the homes of people, most of whom were Kurds, were destroyed. the decision to stop military operations was a timely decision, but Turkey still continuing its attacks."

Othman confirmed that Turkey does not want peace, and said: "Turkey does not want peace, and if Turkey wanted peace, Ocalan has been calling for peace and putting forward a project for years in prison. But the Turkish state has not responded to these requests and has not spoken with Ocalan. Ocalan has been kept in isolation for years.

 According to my opinion, they are doing this because Turkey does not want to make peace with the Kurds, where their policies are nationalist against all components that disagree with them. Article 66 of the Turkish constitution states that every person who lives in Turkey is a Turk. That is, They do not accept any other nation, especially the Kurds, there were many opportunities for peace, and the Kurds were ready for peace, but the Turkish state did not want that.

America and Russia support war policy

Othman explained, "The United States and Russia support the war policy pursued by the Turkish state and ignore the calls for peace." "Any serious pressure on Turkey because of the Ukraine issue. NATO is also with Turkey and does not put pressure on it.

There is no pressure on Turkey from foreign countries, that is why the Turkish state insists on war."
