HPG further describes the Turkish military`s use of chemical weapons and the resistance of the guerillas against the attacks:

“The invaders could not advance against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas and suffered heavy blows. The oppressive Turkish army has violated the rules of war, and has bombarded the positions of the Resistance thousands of times with chemical weapons and explosives. Despite these attacks, our forces resisted, the invaders could not achieve any results and used prohibited thermobaric and phosphorus bombs on the battle positions.”

HPG further stated:

“The invaders could not achieve any results against the epic resistance and self-sacrificing style of our forces and used chemical weapons, types of nuclear and thermobaric tactical bombs as explosives 1198 times, violated the international rules of war and committed the most serious crime”
