With the approach of the International Woman's Day a series of activities were held in North eastern Syria.

On the occasion of March 8th feminist association held a number of activities that mark the International Woman's Day. These activities were commenced on 23 February and proceed to 10 March.

In Qamishlo, the Young Woman Union in coordination with Woman Body in the Body of Sport and Youths in the Jazira Region run a bike competition. The race began from the Osman Sabri Circle and finished at the 12 March Martyrs Stadium.

In Ain Issa, the Congra Star Coordination in coordination with the Woman Committee in the Gire Spi Canton  delivered gifts to service associations and the Internal Forces in the canton all inj line with the 8 March in recognition to their efforts.

In the same relation, the Zaboubia Feminist Gathering held a forum under 'Freedom regarding Women  and Men' in Raqqa, that was started by observing a minute of silence.

In the forum Fawza Yusuf, administrator in Women Council of the Democratic Union Party said: the freedom cause is not confined to women alone, rather it is that of men too''.

In turn, Co-chair of the Intellectuals' Union Abdul Rahman Ahmed said: '' women in our society had a prominent role''. While Dhabiye Nasr member of the Syriac's Democratic Council said: freedom is recognizing the other regardless gender''.
