The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in Iraq, Major General Yahya Rasoul, said in a statement: "During the implementation of an inspection operation by the Salah al-Din Operations Command in the al-Mata area to search for the wounded terrorist who was wounded during the air strike, and upon the arrival of the force to the place of the strike, they were found the terrorist was surrounded and there was an exchange of fire and he blew himself up," according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency.

He added that "there is no damage from the explosion among the security forces," noting that "three bodies were found and the search is still going on."

Earlier today, Thursday, the army's aviation carried out an air strike, killing a mercenary and wounding another while they were trying to attack the warplanes in Salah al-Din Governorate.
