International expert: ISIS tried to impose a new reality, and SDF defended all Syrians, world

  On January 20, ISIS cells launched an attack on Al-Sina’a prison in the Ghweran neighborhood of Hasaka and tried to smuggle ISIS detainees, but the Syrian Democratic Forces thwarted the scheme aimed at eliminating the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

 On January 26, the media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces announced full control of the prison and the surrender of all ISIS mercenaries within the framework of the "Hammer of Peoples" campaign.

 Trying to impose a new reality

 The expert and professor of international relations, Dr. Hamid Fares, spoke to our agency about this, saying: "A successful operation by all standards carried out by the Syrian Democratic Forces in the face of an attack described as the largest and most violent since the announcement of the elimination of the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria and Iraq three years ago."

 He explained, "This organization tried with all its might to return to the scene again by storming Ghweran prison to free the organization's members, in an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground by extending control over a patch that restores the organization's lost prestige."

 Fares added, "The intervention of the SDF at this precise time was one of the most important factors in thwarting the terrorist attacks of ISIS, which did not imagine that it would face a very valiant resistance based on a firm belief of the necessity of confronting this organization, which wanted through this process to send a message to the whole world that this terrorist organization still exists, especially since this operation targets the entire Syrian people, not just northern Syria, which further complicates and intertwines the scene.

 Positive results for all Syrians and the world

 In conjunction with the ISIS attacks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Damascus issued a statement that was indirectly supportive of ISIS’s attacks, and claimed that SDF was killing civilians in Al-Sina’a Prison in Ghweran, including children, and displacing its residents from their homes.

 Contrary to what the Damascus government claimed, the expert in international relations sees: “The results of these attacks and the success of the SDF in confronting ISIS and thwarting their control of Ghweran prison have significant positive repercussions on the Syrians in general. The Syrian Democratic Forces are fighting ISIS on behalf of the Syrian people and the whole world for what this organization represents.”  from a threat to the security of Syria and the world.

 He added, "Therefore, the SDF carried out a heroic act and huge sacrifices from its best youth and soldiers. As a result of this confrontation, 121 martyrs died, with their pure blood dying the Syrian land and annihilating the idea of ​​the organization's return again, especially since the organization has a clear plan behind the storming of Ghweran prison, which is an attempt to get its army out of prison to carry out its  This type of operation is in the future.

 He explained, "Especially since the strengthening and increase of ISIS's danger depends on two main elements, the first is the ability of its members to organize their ranks in the desert, and the second is the organization's ability to release its members detained in prisons in light of their inability to recruit new members, due to which the organization is able to expand again and control the  other cities and the declaration of the second caliphate that the organization’s leaders are seeking to establish.”

 External green light and the great interest of Turkey

 In a statement, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced that the attack "was not an ordinary attack, and it came within the context of a broad plan that had been prepared for a long time. According to the documents that were seized, as well as the confessions of the attacking mercenary officials, it turned out that if their attack on the prison in Hasaka had succeeded,  , they would have launched attacks on other neighborhoods in Hasakah as well. They would also have launched their attacks simultaneously on the areas of “Al-Hol, Al-Shaddadi, and Deir ez-Zor”, and they were able to put their broad plan into practice.  The name of the "Second Islamic State" is false.

 Regarding the presence of external forces behind these attacks, the expert and professor of international relations said: “The terrorist ISIS cannot take any escalating step inside any area in Syria without a green light from a foreign country and the country that has the most interest in this is Turkey, which has a great interest in the continuation of Syria.”  As it is now, there are Turkey's permanent attempts to return terrorism to Syria, its continued spread, the destruction of the northeastern region of Syria, the fight against the Kurds and the self-management project, and therefore Turkey is exploiting this type of attack to continue its occupation of northern Syria and plunder its wealth.

 ISIS threatens Arab and international security, and SDF defends everyone

 Regarding what is required of the Syrians and the Arab and international community in general, the Egyptian expert said: "SDF is fighting a venerable terrorist organization that major countries have not succeeded in eliminating despite their capabilities, whether militarily or informationally, and therefore it is necessary to provide full support to these forces that seek to eliminate it, which represents this  The organization is a threat to Arab national security, especially since terrorism has crossed borders and in light of the fact that certain countries support terrorist organizations, led by ISIS, in order to undermine the security and stability of the Arab region and the Middle East.

 He added, "Therefore, the Arab and international community should be supportive of the Syrian Democratic Forces in confronting this terrorist organization by providing them with military and security support as well as economic ones. Otherwise, the situation will be worse in light of ISIS trying to re-establish itself again, and if it succeeds in that, the consequences will be catastrophic."  .

 The survival of ISIS mercenaries and their families without a solution represents a clear threat to the security of the region

 The expert and researcher in international relations spoke about the danger of ISIS mercenaries and their families remaining unresolved, saying: "The survival of foreign ISIS elements in the prisons of northern and eastern Syria and their families in the camps represents an explicit threat to the security of Syria and the entire Arab region and a great burden on SDF, which is responsible for securing these areas in light of the incursion.  Turkey, which negatively affected the security situation in general."

 He explained in this context, "especially since Turkey supports terrorist elements and organizations for its interests in this region, in light of the refusal of foreign governments to take back their citizens and their delay in establishing an international court to try terrorist organizations that committed many crimes against the Syrian people, and thus the Autonomous Administration has become in a difficult position.  It is complicated by the refusal to recover these elements and the failure to establish an international court to try them."

 He added, "As for the families coming from neighboring countries who are believed to be closely linked to the organization, things are moving very slowly, and the dialogue between the Autonomous Administration and the Iraqi government regarding the recovery of 31,000 Iraqis residing in al-Hol camp has not brought anything new and there is no real progress."

 The expert in international relations emphasized, "Here the responsibility lies with the international community, which must bear its responsibility in this particular file and put pressure on Arab and Western governments to retrieve their citizens who belong to 54 nationalities and are considered the most dangerous in the organization, which increases fears of their survival, especially since the European Council Commission  For human rights, the European Union called on the countries of the European Union to receive their citizens, and the US State Department also called on European countries to take them back while ensuring their rehabilitation or trial if it is proven that they have committed terrorist crimes.

 Fares said, "The main reason behind the renewal of terrorist operations is that ISIS elements remain in the organization's former strongholds and are not deported to their countries."

 ISIS is spreading in many countries

 In the conclusion of his speech, the expert and professor of international relations, Dr. Hamid Fares confirmed that: "ISIS has spread widely in many countries, so we find ISIS in southern Libya and it has carried out many terrorist operations against the Libyan National Army. We have also seen the escalation of terrorist operations in Iraq in the recent period to try to return  To square zero again and not to complete the democratic path. Also, ISIS has spread widely in Africa, especially in the African Sahel region, which has become a hotbed that the organization’s elements exploit to re-deploy and threaten North Africa.  attacks."
