​​​​​​​Gupta: PKK struggles for freedom of peoples

 Removing the name of the PKK from the "terror list" of the United States of America, the European Union and Britain is one of the main agendas in the recent period.  That is why many writers, academics and politicians worldwide are calling for the Turkish state to immediately abandon its denial of the Kurds, to remove the PKK's name from the "terror list" and to be recognized as the legitimate representative of the Kurdish people.

The politician and writer stressed, while speaking to our agency, on the need to delist the PKK from the terrorist lists and stop pressuring the Kurdish people, noting to the necessity of escalating the struggle in this regard.

She said at the start of her speech, " fighters of the freedom for any people, may be viewed as terrorists for others a and insofar this phrase is superficial and vulgar, it express short-sightedness of the international community on the reality of the PKK.

Pressure must be put on the authoritarian regimes for the the oppressed peoples freedom

She pointed out that pressure must be put on the authoritarian regimes for the freedom of the oppressed peoples, and said,"as much as the pressure is stronger, the resistance gets  greater. Just as the Kurdistan Workers Party do, there is need for the armed struggle as well. We must understand whether the violence is used for salvation or the oppression, whether this is an indication to the strength of weakness."

 Rahila Gupta pointed out that comparing the PKK with ISIS and similar terrorist groups is unacceptable, and said, "There is an alliance of the United States of America in Syria and Iraq with the People's Protection Units and the Women's Protection Units;they both share the same ideas. The model of coexistence that is now emerging in Rojava is a product of the philosophy of the PKK, which runs on the basis of ecological life and women's participation. This philosophy and thought embarrass the very Western democratic forces."

Rahila Gupta said that Europe is well aware of the difference between the PKK and ISIS, and indicated that it is not taking a position;  Because the Turkish state is a member of NATO, she continued, "The policies of Western powers have always depended on convenience and irrationality. For example, the situation that partly caused the refugee problem that Turkey uses as a permanent threat to Western powers, is because of Turkey's relations with  its neighbours. This leads to disregarding the practices of the Turkish state."

 'A big campaign is urgently needed'

 Rahila Gupta explained that to remove the name of the PKK from the "terror list", a campaign similar to Nelson Mandela's freedom campaign is needed, and stated that the Turkish state is striving to keep the name of the PKK on the terrorist list and said, "The ongoing campaigns must carry sufficient force which makes Western powers regret their relations with the Turkish state.

Rahila Gupta saw the ongoing discussions about removing the PKK name from the "terror list" as positive, and said, "During the recent discussions that took place in the British Parliament, both the Labor Party parliamentarians and the Conservative party parliamentarian, Crispin Blunt, called on the government to remove the PKK from the list of organizations  "This is really a big change. And this needs to be strengthened further."

 Recalling the Belgian court's decision, Rahela Kupta also criticized the policies of European countries and said, "Labour parliamentarian Lloyd Russell Moyla referred to the decision of the Belgian Supreme Court in 2017. The court rejected the argument that members of the PKK are not responsible for  Publishing Kurdish newspapers and radio stations.

 The struggle of a people is their legitimate right to self-determination.  This irony is important and should be used to remove the PKK's name from the terrorist list.  European countries with a large presence of Kurds have used the political activities of the PKK as a tool to criminalize them.”

 “We know that Western powers hardly serve human rights, equality and freedom,” said Rahila Gupta. “Europe depends on Turkey to remove the name of the PKK from the terrorist list, and we must show the true face of the Turkish state through a serious struggle. That is why the struggle must be escalated further.”
