Clashes between ISIS terrorists and Peshmerga leave losses

The Ministry of Peshmerga in southern Kurdistan announced that a number of Peshmerga troops lost their lives, in addition to a number of injuries, after they were attacked by ISIS mercenaries in Kirkuk.

"At night of December 5/6, 2021,ISIS terrorists groups carried out a brutal attack on the site of the 126th Brigade of the Peshmerga forces near the village of Qara Salem , as a result of this cowardly attack which led to casualties among martyrs and wounded in the ranks of Peshmerga that repelled ISIS terrorists, and restored the security situation", The ministry stated in a statement reported by Roj News Agency.

without mentioning the death toll.

For its part, Al-Arabiya network, quoting Reuters, reported the loss of 5 lives, including 4 Peshmerga and a civilian. While 6 others were injured in confrontations with ISIS mercenaries near the village of Qara Salem.

Earlier on Sunday, Ramadan Othman the official of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the Sarkaran district, told Baghdad Today agency that ISIS mercenaries took control of the whole village of Lahiban in Dibs district, after burning its houses. He indicated that "the village includes 70 houses, and no security reinforcements have reached from Peshmerga or the Iraqi army, where all its residents abandoned it." He stressed that "the control of the village was carried out completely after sunset."
