Netewî Xemgîn Turkey is heading into a dangerous phase because of its nationalist mentality

During an exclusive interview with ANHA agency, Kongra Star coordination in Lebanon, Netewî Xemgîn, spoke about the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan and the "Time for Freedom" campaign.

At the outset, Netewî Xemgîn touched upon on the situation inside Turkey in general, saying” Turkish state has recently fallen into a major political, diplomatic, economic and military impasse, and with its nationalist mentality, it is heading towards a dangerous stage."

She noted that “the Turkish state did not provide any scheme and project to organize and solving the complex crisis, but it intensified its attacks on Southern Kurdistan and some Mid-east countries, particularly on the Kurds, exploiting the mercenaries in seeking to weaken the democratic nation system role and eliminating the peoples and their values.”  

'Increasing isolation means perpetuating the causes of conflict'

In this context, Netewî Xemgîn stated that: "Turkish state prevents the lawyer and relatives of the leader Ocalan from meeting him, because it is aware that his meeting will contribute in solving the Mid-east crisis in full, and will direct the people towards the right path. Intensifying isolation," adding: "It can also be said that intensifying isolation means perpetuating the causes of the conflict, and Turkey does anything to protect its interests."

She went on to say that” Turkish occupation policy based on the exclusion and nationalist tendency, in this regard, “Turkey has historically imposed on Kurdish children the Turkish language to obliterate their identity, but today, as a result of the awareness of the people and the opening of universities, academies and institutes in Kurdish, the reality of Kurds has changed dramatically."

She continued” Talking about “Time for Freedom" campaign that the campaign meant it was time for the political identity of the Kurd and the acquisition of geographical and cultural rights. Adding, "We have organized a number of activities, such as marches, meetings and statements before United Nations headquarters and human rights organizations in Lebanon, in order to develop the objectives of the campaign, and to hold Turkey accountable in international courts for violating international laws by tightening the isolation of the leader and achieving his physical freedom, as well as for its crimes against the people of NE, Syria."

In relating with the campaign, Netewî Xemgîn also referred to their intensification of activities in Lebanon, because "it is one of the countries where the leader stayed and struggled in the 1980s and opened academies with a role in the Lebanese movement. Today, many Lebanese people believe in the freedom line and approach of leader Ocalan and of all with his freedom."

The fascist authorities in Imrali prison stressed their arbitrary actions against Leader Abdullah Ocalan by preventing him from exercising walking on the pretext of speaking with his companions. Because he talks while he was walking with his comrades, staying 23 years in prison, showing how unfair it is, arguments are ready, that way encounters with family and lawyers are prevented. "

KCK expressed concern about the life and health of Leader Ocalan, calling on the European Commission, CPT, human rights organizations and the Prisons Committee of the Turkish Parliament to visit Imrali and share the results of the visit with public opinion, and calling upon the Kurdish people and their friends to step up their struggle and move against the isolation and torture regime in Imrali.
