Omar: Expelling Turkish state and its mercenaries out of the occupied areas is priority

The occupation attacks launched by the Turkish state and its mercenaries on Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî on October 9, 2019, entered their third year.  During which 300,000 civilians were displaced from their homeland.  The Swiss-based Wesling Research Institute has documented that the Turkish state used chemical weapons during these attacks.  Despite all the documents, the Turkish state has not been prosecuted for its crimes.

 The Turkish state continues to commit all kinds of war crimes in Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî.  At the same time, the Syrian Democratic Council is working continuously to liberate all occupied areas in north and east Syria, especially Afrin, and to end the Syrian crisis.

 The co-chair of the Council evaluated the ongoing diplomatic efforts since the occupation of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and indicated that their responsibility is to ensure the return of the displaced.

Omar also explained that the attacks of the occupying Turkish state and its mercenary groups continue on the regions of northeast Syria, and said, "Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee during the attacks of the occupying Turkish state on the NES areas. Hundreds of civilians were killed in those attacks, and the Turkish state was used in  Its occupation attacks are chemical weapons. The use of these weapons has been confirmed and reports have been prepared. Inhuman crimes committed by mercenaries continue in Serê Kaniyê, Girê Spî and Afrin.

 'They are silent on the crimes of the Turkish state for the sake of their interests'

Omar indicated that the Turkish state was not asked to provide any account and continued, saying: "The Turkish state realizes that no one will hold it accountable and it encourages it to continue its attacks. First, the Turkish state and its mercenaries who committed these crimes must be held accountable international courts,  Although human rights organizations have prepared dozens of reports documenting the crimes of the Turkish state in the occupied areas, no action has been taken, as states remain silent for their own interests and cover up the crimes committed by the Turkish state.

Omar explained that the Arab countries have shown a clear position against the attacks of the Turkish state since the beginning of these attacks and said: “Many Arab countries have expressed their rejection of this situation. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the UAE immediately showed their opposition to these attacks. It called  Egypt, three days after the attacks, to an emergency meeting of the League of Arab States, and a joint statement was issued against these attacks and revealed the occupying position of the Turkish state, as it was said that the Turkish state occupies Syria and that it must abandon this offensive position as soon as possible, and the Arab countries always make it clear  the Turkish state is occupier.

 'Turkish state attacks exacerbate the crisis further'

 She explained that the Syrian Democratic Council is holding various meetings on the Syrian crisis and the occupation attacks. They met with the opposition inside and abroad and continued: "We seek many times to meet with the Syrian opposition to resolve the Syrian crisis.  Three big meetings in this context. There were similar efforts in Europe as well, in all dealings there were opinions that the attacks of the occupying Turkish state were exacerbating the Syrian crisis further."

 Omar stated that a meeting will be held to resolve the Syrian crisis with the participation of the armed movements in Syria and said: "We are working with the Syrian opposition to solve the Syrian crisis diplomatically.

 Omar commented on the position of the international powers against the occupation’s attacks: “In all our discussions in the Syrian Democratic Council, whether at home or abroad, all countries show their solidarity against the attacks of the Turkish state. France has shown its position against the occupation attacks, and there are statements condemning the European Union and other countries.  Despite this, the Turkish state continues to commit war crimes in all of Syria in general, and northern and eastern Syria in particular.

 'Human rights organizations are not taking serious steps'

Omar said: "One of the important topics of the Syrian crisis is forced displacement and demographic change. Amid the silence of international human rights organizations and relevant institutions."

Omar explained that they are working to return people after the attacks of the Turkish state and its mercenaries, and said: "One of the basic rights is the return of the people to their land safely, and for the people to return to their homes, the mercenary groups must leave. New places must also be prepared for the transfer of the people of other regions who were brought in  To Afrin, Girê Spî and Sere Kaniyê to bring about demographic change. On the other hand, international organizations and human rights organizations must be identified as a guarantor."

 'Inviting the Kurdish National Council to serve the occupiers'

 Amina Omar stated that the Kurdish National Council is lying in order to legitimize the Turkish state's occupation of Afrin, and said, "The Kurdish National Council wants to cover up the crimes of the Turkish state and its mercenaries and shows through its campaign that Afrin is safe. It calls on the Kurdish National Council to return to the occupied areas, and says that  These areas are safe but the truth is not like that, we know that many people who trusted the KNC have become slaves of mercenaries. The KNC is trying to protect its existence and interests by handing over the Kurdish people to the Turkish state."

 The co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Amina Omar, concluded her speech, "The goal of the Kurdish National Council's call is to end the resistance of the people of Afrin in al-Shahba. People who return to Afrin return without guarantee and the Turkish state and its mercenaries torture them. The Kurdish National Council is moving today with the Turkish state and wants to make the Kurdish people  A victim of his dirty policies.Our people should not trust these calls.They are trying to do the same in Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî.Our people will return to their homeland and land when the necessary conditions and conditions are met and with a promise from the guarantor countries.As the Syrian Democratic Council, we will fulfill our responsibility until our people return to their homes in peace.We see  The struggle of our people against the occupation attacks is important everywhere, and we will announce their struggle and their desire to return to their lands everywhere.”
