KRC opens largest center for Orthopedic Prosthetics in NES
The Kurdish Red Crescent (KRC) is preparing to inaugurate the largest Orthopedic Prosthetics Center in the northeast Syria.
The Kurdish Red Crescent is preparing to inaugurate a center for Orthopedic Prosthetics, named after "Jan Soz" with an area of 1,600 square meters to provide aid to people who lost their limbs during the wars in the region as a result of the successive attacks of the Turkish occupation and its tied mercenary groups on various regions of northeast Syria, which left about 5760 people lost their parts of body, who were forced to travel out Syria to for treatment, and forced to pay high payments.
The project is the first at the level of NES, as there were centers in the regions, but they were only intended for fighters, and the center will include a special department to provide PSS.
In this regard, the administrative member of the KRC, Newroz Khalil, told our agency: “We decided to open a center due to the presence of a large number of those who lost part of their limbs during the war in the regions of northern Syria, as there are approximately 5760 people, and this center is an expansion of the center devoted to the installation of artificial limbs, which was previously located in the town of Himo in Qamishlo. "
The structure
Regarding that, Newroz indicated that the building will include three floors, one floor will be devoted to installing Orthopedic Prosthetics, another floor for providing PSS.
The center was built on three departments to ensure, the center receive all services, such as CDCs, examinations and x-rays, for a period of six months prior to the installation of a Orthopedic Prosthetics.
Regarding the preparations, she added: "It is not finished yet, but it needs a maximum period of four months to go into the service."
As for the necessary materials, she indicated that the materials needed to manufacture are currently available, but that we face difficulties importing them from abroad.
The center will also include specialists and CS.
The People's Municipality allocated an area of 1600 square meters for building the center. The KRC in Başûr Kurdistan, the German Medico Company, the Barcelona municipality and the French Red Crescent also provided assistance to the project.
At the end of her speech, Newroz indicated that the center will only be located in the city of Qamishlo, but will contain first aid for the Kurdish Red Crescent in all regions of north and east Syria.
