Arab coalition announces the destruction 8 UAVs of al-Houthis

The Arab coalition said that it "intercepted and destroyed 5 Houthi car bombs that tried to target civilians, and shortly after that, 3 UAVs launched towards the Kingdom were intercepted and destroyed."

The coalition added, "The reality on the ground and the victories of the Yemeni army and the tribes in Marib explains the pace of terrorist escalation by the militia."

On Saturday, Yemeni government military sources reported that at least 90 people were killed within 24 hours, following violent battles between government forces and the Houthis in the northern city of Marib, while the Houthis were continuing their offensive to seize control of the strategic oil city for about a month.

The Houthis, whom Saudi Arabia accuses of links to Iran, began an attack in early February in the direction of Marib, the last stronghold of government forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition in the north of the country.

In parallel to the battle for Ma'rib, the Houthis intensified their missile launches towards Saudi territory.

Since 2014, Yemen has been witnessing a war between the Houthis and the forces loyal to the government of the internationally recognized president, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, which began with the Houthis launch an offensive that took control of the capital, Sanaa. They also took control of large parts of northern Yemen.
