Twenty-two prominent French figures, French President Emmanuel Macron, and his government demanded to ban the organization of the "Muslims of France", the French branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The figures stated in an open letter that the "Union of Islamic Organizations in France" changed its name to "Muslims of France" in 2017 due to political calculations.

The personalities called for a blow to the heart of the ideological reference of extremism, pointing out that "France, the country of lights and the home of Voltaire, is the one targeted in the first place by the Brotherhood."

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in March 1928 in Egypt, and its ideology quickly spread to reach 72 Islamic and non-Islamic countries in the world.
