Davutoglu attacks Erdogan: His policy has left Turkey alone

Turkish media reported that Ihsanoglu criticized the Turkish government's policies in the Middle East, saying, "Although we are right in the Eastern Mediterranean crisis, we remained alone in facing this crisis, and no one supports us except Azerbaijan."

He added, during a press conference with the President of the Republican People's Party, Kemal Kılıçdarolu, "This indicates a flaw in the diplomacy that the Foreign Ministry follows."

On the relationship with Egypt, Davutoglu said that his country should begin consultations with Egypt in order to reach an agreement to demarcate the maritime borders between the two countries in the Mediterranean, stressing that "communication with Egypt should not be cut off in light of the current conditions in the eastern Mediterranean."

Davutoglu had accused, in previous statements, President Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party of working to "make Turkey a dwarf country by spreading a climate of fear among the people and transforming the ruling authority into a propaganda company."
