Al-Arabiya Network quoted Iraqi sources as saying that a number of Iraqi border guard soldiers were killed, while an officer with the rank of captain was wounded, as a result of an ambush by ISIS mercenaries at one of the border points in Anbar Province, western Iraq.

Since the beginning of this year, the attacks of militants suspected of being ISIS mercenaries have increased in Iraq, especially in the area between Kirkuk and Salah al-Din (north) and Diyala (east).

On Tuesday, a car bomb exploded between Tikrit and Kirkuk in Iraq, killing a woman and wounding 3 security men, according to the Security Media Cell.

In another context, an Iraqi security source stated, on Thursday, that a security company in Baghdad had been targeted by a Katyusha missile.

The source told Al-Sumaria News, "A security company in the Qadisiyah area in Baghdad was targeted at dawn today with a Katyusha missile," adding that "this resulted in material damage without any casualties being recorded."
