The German foreign minister said: "There must be readiness on both sides to start negotiations, and we hope that the situation will calm down at the end of this month."

Maas added: "If the ships in the eastern Mediterranean are withdrawn from both sides, the way is open for dialogue with each other, and no provocations are carried out during the talks, this will be the only way to resolve this conflict."

It is reported that Turkey has intensified explorations of oil and gas resources in the eastern Mediterranean, off the coast of Cyprus and Greece, after it has recently announced its intention to send a third ship to the eastern Mediterranean despite warnings from the European Union, and Fatih and Yavuz will join the two drilling ships, and it is expected to start operations at the end of this month.
