Al-Kazemi threatens to make the killers of activists a "title of justice"

On Saturday, during his meeting with the security and military leaders at Basra Operations Command headquarters, Al-Kazemi said that outlaw groups have been trying to terrorize the people of Basra for some time, and they pose a threat to them and all Iraqis, stressing that "our presence in Basra is exceptional." We accept failures to protect its security.

The Iraqi Prime Minister affirmed that uncontrolled weapons and tribal problems are unacceptable, and that there must be proactive action, as transgression, lawbreaking and crime cannot be dealt with in passing.

He added that citizens' confidence in the security services must be restored, pointing out that he came directly from travel (from the United States), and he accompanied the security ministers and heads of the security services to support the security forces and raise morale, and work for the establishment of security in the governorate.

He pointed out that "there is no place for the fearful within the security services, and there is no room for fear for those who work for Iraq," stressing that "whoever makes mistakes and who fails will not remain in his place, and he will be held accountable according to disciplinary laws."

He also stressed the rejection of "any form of political interference in the security work."

The protests intensified in the city of Nasiriyah, southern Iraq, on Saturday, after a day that saw the burning of the headquarters of a number of parties in the city, along with other violent protests in Basra.

The protests come against the background of the continued assassinations of activists and clan disputes in the governorate and the prosecution of protesters.
