In an escalation of tension between France and Turkey against the background of the Libyan file, and its operations in the Mediterranean, a French Defense Ministry official called on Wednesday "NATO" to deal with Ankara, and the French official said "NATO cannot bury its head in the sand with regard to Turkey’s recent actions.”

He also considered that NATO could not pretend that there was no problem with Turkey, but rather that it should be dealt with.

In addition, he accused the Turkish navy of an aggressive approach towards a French ship during its earlier mission to NATO.
