HPC-Women: Protecting agricultural is everyone's duty

With the start of the crop harvest season in al-Jazeera region, the concerned authorities in the Autonomous  Administration took precautionary measures to prevent the spread of fires and control them in the event of an outbreak after the arsons caused losses estimated at about 19 billion Syrian pounds according to the statistics of the Economic Commission for the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

The Community Protection Forces and the Community Protection Forces - Women have taken upon themselves this year to protect the crops of the people, as thousands of members have spread among the agricultural lands, especially near public roads throughout the cities of al-Jazeera region.

While female members work within the forces despite that some of them are older to carry out the protection mission. In addition, the number of volunteer women is 700 members.

Women protect what they discovered

Women have not ended up discovering agriculture throughout history, but are keen to protect what they have discovered. Women, despite the age of most of them, are standing for long hours alternating under the hot sun in al-Jazeera region to protect the agricultural crops from fires.

Fatima Mohammed, a member of HPC said at the beginning of her speech: "The arsons occurring in our areas aim at affecting the region's economy."

Fatima and her companions are working to protect the crops along the road between Qamishlo city and Tirbê Spiyê district.

Fatima indicated that the members of the Community Protection Forces are protecting the agricultural crops, considering that protecting the country and its goods is a duty that falls on them.

Fatima called on all people to respond to the forces protecting the agricultural crops, not to throw cigarette butts on the roads, and to report in the event of any fire saying: "Together, we protect our crops from damage and fires."

Protecting the agricultural crops is the duty of everyone in society

Avin Ibrahim from al-Tannoura town is the mother of 7 children and a member of the People's Assembly in the town said that protecting the agricultural crops is every person's duty, so every member of the society must have responsibility spirit and protect the lands of citizens.

For his part, Mahabad Adnan Omer said: "The deployment of Security Forces and the presence of checkpoints have helped to reduce the rate of fires during the current season, and not to record fires in large areas."

Moreover, the members of the Community Protection Forces have the authority to remove all persons who have no work within the territories.
