Switzerland opens an investigation into Turkey's pursuit of its opponents abroad

According to the official statement issued by the Swiss Federal Prosecution, the latter confirmed that it had opened investigations with two people, and that it would ask the Council of Ministers to file a lawsuit against them.

A decision to approve the prosecution’s request is expected to be issued by the Federal Council, especially since he had approved in previous years a similar request related to the investigation of citizens of Turkish origin who had already done the same.

The attorney for the victims affirmed that this case will be a lesson and deterrent for all who report the children of the service movement who are in Switzerland.

In return, Ankara claims that the service movement was involved in an attempted coup in 2016 against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while the movement in turn denies these accusations and calls for an international investigation.

For 4 years, Erdogan's government has been pursuing the service movement outside the country, and Turkish intelligence has carried out kidnappings and deportations of Turks residing outside the country.

Meanwhile, governments of other countries have accused Turks residing on their soil of espionage activities against Erdogan's opponents.
