Al-Kazimi’s government today is between pro and opposition blocs

On Monday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives votes on the government of Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kazimi, and at a time when Sunni and Shi’ite blocs announce that they will give confidence to his government, the Coalition of State of Law, Nationalism have assured that they will not vote for it.

Today, Monday, a session was held to vote on the government of Prime Minister-designate Mustafa al-Kazimi, and sources said that there is a semi-final agreement on the passage of his government.

The sources added that the dispute over the ministries of the Interior and Defense has been resolved, where Gen. Jumah Anad will supervise on Defense Ministry, while the Interior Ministry will be allocated to Gen. Othman al-Ghanmi.

The sources also said that Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi directed the Ministry of Transport to provide flights to transport deputies from the governorates of Basra, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah to the capital, Baghdad today.

Parliament is expected to vote during its meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, on Al-Kazimi's ministerial government, while some sources suggest that the session will be held next Wednesday.

It is worth noting that al-Kazimi is the third appointed Prime Minister since the resignation of the Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, under pressure from the massive protests in December.
