Covid-19 has swept worldwide, and reached to Turkish jails, where many deaths have been recorded, and the prisons are considered best place to the pandemic which may create tragedy inside jails, in particular several detainees and prisoners are suffering from chronic diseases.

In order to avoid this situation, the families of some detainees from Afrin called on human rights organizations to intervene and work to settle their conditions and release them.

In the same context, Hawar news agency (ANHA) held meeting with the citizen Hussein Mahoo, sibling of the detainee, Tawfiq Mahoo, from the village of Bililko in the district of Bulbul, who was arrested in 1991 and transferred to Diyarbakir prison, and then to Yuzkot prison, and now in Tekker Dag prison in Istanbul, who said "Coronavirus has spread in all over the world, we call on human rights organizations to intervene and work to settle the conditions of political perisoners arrested in Turkey. "

Hussein asked, where are the human rights organizations? ... We appeal to them to work to save the detainees from the Coronavirus inside Turkey's prisons.

"My son Salim Mahmoud was arrested in 1994 and transferred to Diyarbakir prison. I used to talk to him from time to time on a mobile phone, but four months ago he did not answer his phone," said mother, Siddiq Rasho, from the village of Kalta belonging to Jandares district.

"Many governments have released their prisoners with the spread of the virus, why does Turkey not release the prisoners? I send my appeal to the United Nations and the human rights organization, and they have to work to save the prisoners," Mother said.

As for the sibling of the detainee, Ahmed Mamo Zardasht Amo, who was arrested in 2011 and who is in Adana prison in Istanbul, he demanded the release of the detainees, including his sibling, for fear of infection with the Coronavirus, which has become more prevalent in Turkey.

The Turkish authorities did not take any preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus in prisons and detention centers, while information indicated that one of the detainees had died of the virus.
