AA adviser attributes Turkish escalation of attacks to possible consensus with America

Tel Tamr, Ain Issa and al-Shahba canton have witnessed an escalation in the attacks in the past three days.

Anwar al-Musharraf said in an interview with ANHA: "The Turkish regime and its mercenaries did not stop their aggression against north and east Syria, ceasefire agreement was not implemented by the Turkish side despite the commitment of the SDF."

"Turkey does not commit by any agreement, charter or international commitment," he said.

On the target of the attacks, he noted that Turkey is trying to complete its project of ethnic cleansing and demographic change in the region, and it has not abandoned it so far. It is seeking to expand its occupation on the largest part of the Syrian territory.

"The SDF's military understanding with Russia and regime has hindered the project of the Turkish state of expansion and occupation, and it is still trying to create a terrorism hotbed in the safe zone," he said.

 Anwar al-Musharraf noted to the possibility of an American-Turkish agreement or a green light by the United States for Turkey to expand its occupation of the area.

He said: "The Turkish aggression has been following the U.S. withdrawal from the region since its inception. There may be agreements or understandings between the Turkish and American sides on the so-called safe zone, that is why we witness the ongoing attacks."

 "The popular rallying around the SDF and its leadership ensures the repulse of any aggression on the region, and all the colonial projects will fail," he said.

The advisor of the Autonomous Administration ended up saying: "The  continuous attacks and Turkey's desire to occupy wider areas will hinder the political solution and deepen the Syrian crisis. The world must act and take a clear position on Turkey's violations."
