French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that Guido now has full legitimacy to organize presidential elections in Venezuela.

He added, "There is an internal crisis, and we are responding to President Guido's demands to support the re-establishment of democracy, there must be new elections to legitimize the demands of the Venezuelan people."

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said at a cabinet meeting: "The Spanish government declares that it officially recognizes Venezuelan President Guido Marquez as the transitional president of Venezuela."

British Foreign Secretary Jimmy Hunt said, "With the eight-day deadline, Nicolas Maduro did not call for presidential elections, so the United Kingdom, along with the European allies, now recognizes Guaido as a temporary constitutional president so that fair elections can be held.
