Lezgin Kor: Turkey will not achieve its goal by proposing the Adana Agreement

This came during an interview conducted by ANHA agency with the member of the National Democratic Alliance of Syria,  Lezgin Kor, where he pointed to the situation of Idlib and the Adana agreement proposed by Turkey.

Lezgin said at the beginning of his speech that with the American decision to get out of Syria "the ambitions of Turkey are moving to the north-east of Syria more to restore Ottoman dreams and impose its occupation on the region as it did in Idlib, Afrin and other areas."

As for the Adana agreement, Lezgin Kor noted that "Turkey has begun to promote the return of the agreement, but this has been met with harsh conditions by Damascus." Turkey's dream of creating a buffer zone will not turn into reality.

It is noteworthy that Damascus has imposed on Turkey conditions for the return of the Adana agreement to the forefront, including Turkey's exit from Syria and the closure of its borders in front of " the terrorists."

As for Idlib's situation, Lezgin Kor said: "Turkey did not abide by the Sochi Agreement and did not implement it on the ground. Heavy equipment had to be pulled out of the demilitarized zone. Many of the mercenary factions affiliated with Turkey dissolved themselves, Jabhat al-Nusra imposed its control over Idlib province. According to the agreement, the terrorist factions in Idlib and not the non-terrorist factions present in Idlib were to be dissolved. Idlib was left with terrorists only, in parallel with the mobilization of the regime in Idlib countryside.

Regarding the formation of a constitutional committee, Lezgin said that the solution to the Syrian crisis "will be through the drafting of a constitution that guarantees the rights of all components in Syria, and ensures the system of decentralization and democracy in Syria."

Lezgin concluded, "in light of these conflicts, we believe that it is necessary for the political forces and parties to unite and cooperate with each other and begin the Syrian-Syrian dialogue to find a solution to the Syrian crisis that has been going on for years."
