Conference concluded with electing new administration, issuing statement

On Thursday, the first conference for the Women Council in Manbij city and its countryside was held at the meetings hall of the Legislative Council as female delegations from North and East Syria, the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD), the Syrian Women Council and the Future Syria Party attended it.

During the conference, many speeches were delivered and praised the pioneer role of women in building the society. The speeches also confirmed the necessity to unite the ranks of the Syrian women to avoid the risks posed to the Syrian people.

After the speeches ended, the annual report of the Women Council in Manbij was read as the report included the works of the Women Council during the last year. The participants also discussed the mistakes and shortcomings that formed obstacles before women's development and how to avoid those mistakes.

The rule of procedure of the Women Council in Manbij and its countryside was read, and it included the goals and principles of the council, conditions of the membership and its rights, the structure and mechanism of the Women Council's work. The rule of procedure was discussed and voted after amendments.

Then, the member of the council Nadiya Mulhem read the draft of the resolution for the next year to be discussed, and it included a number of decisions that aim at developing the women's situation at all levels during the next year.

After that, an administration for the Women Council in Manbij and its countryside was elected, and it included Hala al-Hassen, Nadiya Molhem, Najiyeh Hajj Mohammed, the spokeswoman for the Women Council Eptisam Abdel Qader, the city's administration Lamya Khelo, the Relations Committee Hanaa al-Sherif, the Women Justice Council Jihan Mohammed, Women Committee Entisar Mohammed, Health Committee Muna Zakariya, the Young Women Meryam Khuleif, the Networks Administration Fatima Beko and Women's Economy Sabah Mohammed.

The conference ended with issuing a final statement that was read by the spokeswoman on behalf of the Women Council Eptisam Abdel Qader. The statement included,

"We held the first conference for Women Council in Manbaj and its countryside on the 27th of December 2018, in the presence of more than 52 representatives of all institutions, components and representatives of women in northern Syria.

Holding this conference in these historic and sensitive conditions is the greatest challenge and proof of our attitude towards the region, and as women, we have suffered in previous years from the masculine authoritarian mentality, and we have been victims of all policies.

 Today, after we have experienced freedom and reached a level of organization, we are not ready to be victims of the Turkish politics. We were eyewitnesses to what happened in Afrin, Tarabulus, al-Bab and Idlib. Women suffered more than others in these areas.

The conference reached a high level of determination, will and self-defense. Finally, we say that women's will and solidarity will be the guarantee of a free life and pluralistic and democratic Syria. With the women's will, all the schemes will fail.

The conference ended with chanting the slogans that call for women's freedom.
