For 2nd day in a row, hunger strike in Girgê Legê continues

The hunger strike held in solidarity with Leyla Guven continues to demand the end of the isolation on Ocalan in Girgê Legê district on its second day.

To denounce the isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and in solidarity with the co-chair of the Democratic Society Conference and the parliamentarian of the Democratic Peoples Party (HDP) in Colemêrg city in Bakur Kurdistan (North Kurdistan) Leyla Guven who has been on hunger strike in Amed prison since November 7, 125, people of Girgê Legê district of Qamishlo canton have been on hunger strike since Saturday to continue for two days in the center of the Community Protection Forces in Girgê Legê district.

On the second day, speeches were delivered by the audience which confirmed the continuation of the struggle until the end of the isolation on Ocalan and his release. The speeches confirmed their solidarity with the activist Leyla Guven, calling on the international organizations to respond to their demands and lift the isolation on Ocalan.

The strike continues until now and it is scheduled to last until the evening to be concluded with issuing a statement to the public opinion.
