Dozens of people in Kobanî city began a sit-in and hunger strike to denounce the tight isolation on Ocalan, and in solidarity with the Kurdish parliamentarian Leyla Guven who is on hunger strike in Turkish prisons.

Dozens of residents of Kobanî city, during their gathering in the cultural center of the city on Monday, started a sit-in and hunger strike that will last for 4 days.

This step is a part of the third stage of the events organized by Kongra Star entitled "We Will Destroy the Imrali Regime and Live Free with Our Leader," in which dozens of people will be on hunger strike in solidarity with the leader Abdullah Ocalan in his prison in Imrali and the Kurdish parliamentarian for the Democratic Peoples Party (HDP) and the co-chair of the of Democratic Society Conference in North Kurdistan Leyla Guven.

On the first day of the sit-in, more than 70 citizens participated from the cities of Girê Spî / Tal Abyad and Kobanî.

In the first moments of the announcement of the start of the sit-in and the hunger strike, the supervisors on the activity issued a statement saying, "The Turkish government continues to isolate the leader of free thought and the path of light, so the parliamentarian in the Democratic Peoples Party Leyla Guven in prison is on hunger strike to prove that the Kurdish people will not abandon its leader, and we as Kongra Star, Kurdish political parties and all civil institutions will start a hunger strike for 4 days, and we stand in solidarity with our detainees and our leader."
