Women's House is destination for solving social issues in al-Tuwaheina camp

During the Syrian revolution, women emphasized their major role in making decision and held high and important positions in all aspects of social, cultural, economic and even political life. In this context, the Women's House in the camp conducts intellectual activities on a regular and weekly basis to introduce the women to their rights and duties towards the family and society to get rid of the injustice and tyranny that women have suffered from throughout the ages.

The Women Administration in al-Tabqa has opened a Women's House in al-Tuwaihina camp since 8 months. The center receives women daily and discusses the daily issues and problems facing them, whether social or economic, and works to solve them.

Within the available potentials

In this regard and to know about the work of this house, ANHA agency met with the administrator at the Women's House in al-Tuwaihina camp Siham al-Hassen who pointed out that the Women's House seeks to resolve all the issues they receive by bringing the views and achieving mutual agreement between the two parties taking into account the social customs and traditions of the area.

Among the projects that supported the women's economic independence and emphasized their role in the economic development inside the camp is the opening of sewing courses for women in order to improve their harsh living conditions.

Among the projects currently being studied according to Siham al-Hassen is the establishment of a women's bakery to enhance the role of women in the camp socially and economically and to achieve self-sufficiency in bread in light of the acute shortage of services and living in the camp.

Through its activities, the house strives to promote society in general by enhancing the role of women as women have the ability to nurture coming generations on high ideals and values.
