Women's laws were applied on ground, protected women's rights

The Women's Body was established with the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Rojava on 21 January 2014, and the Body was able to achieve several important projects in the protection of women and activate its role, the most important of which was the issuance of women's laws.

In the first steps taken by the Women's body in Rojava, she examined the situation and problems of women in order to remove the atavistic concepts that hinder the development of society in order to reach a Democratic ecology society  where it has taken the concept of the Democratic Nation's as a basic role in its work.

The enactment and application of women's laws on the ground

In order to protect women, protect their rights and achieve social justice, the Women's Body issued the laws of women four years ago by a decision of the Legislative Council of al-Jazeera and has been distributed to all regions and cities of Rojava.

In order to identify these laws and not to use them in a wrong and personal manner, the Women's Body has delivered many lectures and has opened training courses in all cities and areas of Rojava, and these activities are still ongoing

In this regard, the co-chair of the Women's Body on al-Jazeera the Wala Agha said that they have carried out extensive campaigns to explain the concept of women's laws in all councils, districts and institutions in Rojava.

They reached the required awareness after overcoming difficulties

Wala pointed out that through these campaigns, they were able to reach the awareness required by women and society in general through discussions in these campaigns, and were able to coordinate with women's institutions and many women's organizations in the area.

Women's laws were applied on the ground and protected the rights of women

"The Syrian state was one of the 50 countries that signed the CEDAW in December 1979, where Syria ratified it in 2002 with Legislative Decree No. 330," she said. Discrimination in its various forms against women, but what is the usefulness of international covenants and conventions, even if they are signed if their essence remains in the process of verbal emulation, while the laws of women in Autonomous Administration have been applied practically on the ground so that women's rights are guaranteed and safeguarded.

In intensive training, everyone will reach a free moral society

She noted that in 2018 they sought to explain the laws more widely to women, pointing out that they mirror society in the application of the principle of the democratic nation to be an example to be followed in international institutions and others.

With the opening of the Academy, their training will be intensified

Wala said that they will continue to train and educate the society about women's laws, especially with regard to homicides and polygamy, through the opening of monthly training sessions, and that they are preparing to open a women's academy in order to develop the mentality and culture of society and through these exercises will reach a free moral society.
