Olive harvest began in Manbij, its countryside

Part of the people of Manbij city and its countryside depend on the cultivation of olives, where thousands of olive trees are spread in the countryside of Manbij. The people began days before to reap the olives of the trees.

According to farmers, the olive harvest this year is generally good compared to the previous years when ISIS used to burn the trees and inflict damage to nature during its occupation of Manbij.

In this regard, the citizen Dalal al-Gaoud from the village of al-Safa said, "The olive harvest this year is good because it did not suffer from any diseases or damage after the concerned bodies provided assistance to us.”

"The first stage is harvesting the non-oil olives which are used as a supply of the house. The second stage is the harvesting of olive oil to be squeezed in the city's presses after the process of fermentation of the crop for several days," Dalal said.

In a related context, the citizen Halima Aboud said, "We are picking olive crop before the rains."

It is worth mentioning that the amount of olive production was not determined this year in Manbij because the harvesting process continues.
