US Chief of Staff: Coordinating with several countries to determine fate of Daesh detainees

Dunford made  this statements at a joint press conference with the Special Presidential Envoy to the International Coalition to Fight Daesh Brett McGurk, at the conclusion of the coalition leaders meeting to counter extremist gangs' violence at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

"The elimination of terrorism and its ideology will require effective efforts that will extend for decades, especially in countries such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Somalia," Dunford said, stressing that dialogue with coalition representatives was successful.

For his part, McGurk stressed that the strategy of the International Coalition in Syria requires a lot of financial and military contributions to reconstruction and stability in the affected and liberated areas, adding that the United States wants to see Iran and its militias outside Syria.

Hosted by the US Department of Defense for the third consecutive year, Chiefs of Staff and Defense Ministers of 82 Arab, European and Asian countries to discuss ways to coordinate cooperation strategies to combat terrorism through military and intelligence means participated in the conference.

Nuri Mahmoud, spokesman for the People Protection Units YPG, announced earlier this month that the number of terrorist prisoners is about 900, from about 44 countries, while the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces have expressed their readiness to hand over the mercenary elements which were kept at  hands of SDF to their countries.
