The residents of Merkada, which is part of al-Hasakah canton, formed 6 communes during separate meetings.

AL-HASAKAH

In order to secure the needs of the people, the residents of al-Kebar and al-Daijiya formed 6 communes during 2 separate meetings in coordination with al-Hasakah Canton Council.

The two meetings began with holding a minute of silence. At the meetings, the deputy co-chair of the Canton Council, Daoud Haj Ali, spoke about the commune role in the management of society, in addition to the role played by members of the commune to serve their villages.

The co-chairmen of the 6 communes were elected and six committees were formed for each Commune which are: the Peace Committee, the Youth Committee, the Services Committee, the Protection Committee, the Economy Committee and the Women's Committee.

The meetings ended with questions by the parents about the importance of the committees and their role in the communes
