Tel Abyad's Festival for Culture, Heritage launched

The activities of Tel Abyad Festival for Culture and Heritage were launched on the sixth anniversary of the July 19th Revolution with the participation of the people of Girê Spî / Tel Abyad, delegations from various areas of north Syria, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the People and Women's Protection Units (YPG, YPJ), Self-Defense Duty, representatives of the political parties, as well as the sheikhs of Arab, Kurdish, Turkmen and Bedouin tribes of the area.

The festival's preparatory committee decorated on Friday the square of the festival which is held in Ain al-Arous town in Girê Spî with the flags of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the People and Women's Protection Units, the pictures of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and the martyrs of freedom, as well as setting up two statues, one of them is for the leader of the democratic nation Abdullah Ocalan and the other represents the symbol of free women.

The festival was preceded by taking all the necessary measures to maintain the safety of the participants in the festival by the security forces, and the Kurdish Red Crescent Organization in turn announced its readiness to receive the medical cases and ambulances in case they occur.

The festival's activities started on Saturday with holding a minute of silence. It is suggested that speeches will be delivered by the co-chair of Girê Spî Council Hamid Abed.

The festival will include artistic performances; dancing, singing and dances which symbolize the culture and heritage of the peoples of the area, as well as organizing sports activities such as marathon and bicycle race.

Furthermore, the festival is scheduled to last for two consecutive days.
