Lecture for Manbij teachers entitled "Raising Women's Awareness"

The Women's Coordination in the Education Committee organized on Saturday a lecture entitled "Raising Women's Awareness" for Manbij and its countryside teachers at the meetings’ hall of the Legislative Council in the building of the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij city in order to raise the awareness of the female teachers as they are the educators for the generations and the family at the same time.

The lecture was delivered with the attendance of the administrator of the Women Council Shilan Ahmed, the members of the coordination of the Education Committee Sevin Ahmed, Waed Desho and Azadi Mustafa in addition to dozens of teachers in Manbij city and countryside.

The lecture began with holding a minute of silence, and then, the member of the Education Committee Coordination Azadi Mustafa delivered the lecture and said, "The woman in the normal society manage the society. They are whoever discovered agriculture and economy, and played the main role in the organization and management of the society, but the male mentality and authoritarianism that emerged later distorted the reality, reduced the role of women and limited it in the works of the house and confiscated their rights, opinion and ambition to prevent them from being free and decision-makers."

At the end of her speech, Azadi said, "The revolution in Rojava and the Syrian north was the revolution of free women. Therefore, women in northern Syria must organize themselves independently in all institutions, whether military, educational or political to restore women's real role in the management and organization of the society."

The director of the Women's Council Shilan Ahmed also participated in the lecture and said in her speech, "The job of the educated woman is to educate the generation and develop it to the highest level of excellence, and women have an essential role in raising the community's awareness and developing it in all fields."

Shilan concluded the lecture by stressing the need for women to be more aware and not to accept the customs and traditions imposed on them by the male mentality which deprives them of their normal rights in addition to participating in all fields and taking their role effectively.
