Nasr al-Din Ibrahim: Turkey's threats are not new, Iraq must move

This came during a meeting held by Hawar news agency with the secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Barti) Nasr al-Din Ibrahim on the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation on Başur Kurdistan as he pointed out that the Turkish occupation on the areas of Başur Kurdistan is a violation of the Iraqi sovereignty and a violation of the international law.

Ibrahim said, "The Turkish state is trying to impose its hegemony on the territories of the neighboring countries and occupy them. The Turkish state is the first enemy of the Kurdish Cause, not because it is attacking the areas of Başur Kurdistan only, but history is full of massacres committed by the Turkish state against the Kurdish people. The attacks on Başur Kurdistan and the threats to occupy Şengal are not new. The Kurdish Cause cannot be solved militarily as Turkey believes, but the only solution is the political solution."

Ibrahim said , "Everyone knows that the biggest terrorist is Erdogan and his army, and all these attacks are in order to win the votes in the elections that will take place in June which will decide the fate of the Turkish people," adding that Erdogan was stepping up his attacks on the Kurdish people with the approaching of elections process in Turkey under the pretext of eliminating terrorism."

Ibrahim explained that Turkey is working at the moment to create chaos and strife among the Kurdish people and between Başur Kurdistan and the Iraqi state to take advantage of the chaos and achieve its goals in the area. In order to thwart these schemes, the Kurdish political parties must accelerate holding the Kurdistan Patriotic Union to unite the Kurdish discourse, and to put an end to the attacks, because whenever there are contradictions between the Kurdish parties, the more the Turkish state is the beneficiary.

He pointed out that Erdogan has great fears of losing power, because the Turkish people realized Erdogan's wrong policy in all respects, including the economic collapse that led him to hold early elections ahead of schedule, until he regains his rule over Turkey.

"The Kurdish people and the political parties have shown their position and their rejection of the Turkish aggression, we in the Kurdish Democratic Party (Barti) strongly condemn the attacks of the Turkish state on the areas of Basur where Turkey has no right to occupy areas beyond its borders, this is indicated of the dictatorship of Erdogan and the fascist violation of international laws, so the states have to act against this aggression and the Government of Iraq and Basur region to do their part to stop these attacks.

"The Kurdish parties must unite and confront the Turkish aggression on the Kurdistan territories, and the Kurdish people in Bakur Kurdistan must prove their will in the elections because it is an opportunity for self-determination," said the Secretary of Kurdish Democratic Party Nasr al-Din Ibrahim.
