Women in all societies live in a life full of difficulties and tragedy because of the authoritarian mentality imposed on them until these days, despite the talk of the concerned parties about their acceptance of women's freedom to reach an equal and democratic society between the two genders, but it remains formality away from reality, but Rojava and North Syria revolution was considered as a key platform for the development of women and their role in society.

The women of al-Shahba canton, have tested the worst enslavement kinds, because they are adhering to customs and traditions, the presence of women in the house is only for the family and the upbringing of children, on the other hand, the role of society is completely explained by the outbreak of the Syrian crisis and the war because of the prevailing laws established by mercenaries during the occupation of their areas and villages.

However, with the liberation of al-Shahba canton of IS mercenaries and the opening of women's centers and institutions and awareness and organizational training, there was a big difference between women in al-Shahba and their role in sharing opinions within society.

Raja Hamidi, a 30-year-old resident of Kafernaya, was deprived of her education like others of al-Shahba women because of the influence and pressure of the family, and to ensure her family's income, she struggled to convince her family that she had been able to work among farmland for a limited period

The initiative of Raja al-Hamidi started six months ago with a new and different page in her life. When the candidature for the board of directors of Kafrnaya was opened, Raja saw that she could, through these elections, take her role in serving the community and nominated herself, she thought she would succeed in the elections but did not expect the vote to be a vice of co-chair.

"I was one of the first women in Kafernaya village who ran for elections and my day of success was one of my happiest days because women and parents trusted my power in the administration," Raja said.

As for the pros and changes that happened with her, Raja says: "During my day in work, I feel that my presence is useful to the community, my role in life is not limited to marriage and procreation. My life has completely changed, in work we share opinions and make decisions, and when I have knew the Women Organization, I became more daring to enter and walk among the parents and attend activities and events and challenge the wrong theory of society with women.

Raja stressed that her and all the women's development in al-Shahba canton against the mentality of the family and IS mercenaries has come after they have known the importance of women's organization through the training and awareness centers, and the basis of the advancement of Arab women in the area thanks to the organization of Kurdish women.

The vice co-chair of the Kafernaya district Council, Raja Hamidi, concluded by asking women to take their role in the work and development of communities, stressing that by developing their organization they will become the model for the development of all women.
