Mashouq's municipality ...cleaning campaigns, future projects to serve people

In the last third of last May, People’s Municipality in Mashouq town belonging to Tirbê Sipî district in Qamishlo canton, launched a campaign to clean town's villages from the dust and the accumulated dirt and roads leading to it.

According to new administrative divisions of democratic federal system in Rojava and North Syria, 33 villages liberated from grip of Islamic State 's gangs in mid-2015.

After the elections of municipalities and local councils, which was launched on 1 December 2017, the municipality began its work in an effort to provide services to the people according to the possibilities available to them.

To date, the municipality has cleaned 10 villages out of 33 villages, from Hasso Ratla village, south of the town about 10 km.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the Co-chair of People's Municipality Fatima Ramo, she said" They opened the roads connecting these villages, which were closed by dirt fences and trenches ,made by Islamic State's gangs during their occupation of the area.

Fatima pointed out that they are working to combat the insects that began to appear as the summer came, through insecticides in the villages that reach it the campaign.

Fatima added that the municipality "conducts hygiene patrols on a semi-weekly basis in these villages, and two vehicles has been allocated to transport the garbage from there to maintain the cleanliness of these villages and reduce the spread of diseases. In addition, they installed lamps on the roads of the villages, and provided the municipality wells 6 villages with pumps to deliver drinking water to the people."

As for the municipality’s future plans and projects to serve the people in the coming period, the Co-chair of People 's Municipality in Mashouq town, Fatima Ramo indicated that they are opening projects such as a women's park in the town, and the establishment of four bridges on the valleys and rivers of villages in Mashouq , Kardim , Gireberi, Nabouah, in addition to restoration of two playgrounds in Mashouq and Kardim villages, as well as a project to Asphalt the roads linking town's villages and another sewage project to the Municipalities Committee of Qamishlo canton.
