Shahoz Hassen: Our project to solve Syrian crisis so Turkey tries to thwart it

The speech of the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Shahoz Hassen came during a meeting held for the members of the Democratic Union Party in Kobanî canton to discuss several files, including political and organizational.

During the meeting that was held in the Martyrs’ Families Institution, Shahoz Hassan valued the status quo in Syria and Rojava, and the regional and international conflicts taking place in the Syrian arena in general and Rojava in particular. Shahoz Hassen said, "The Turkish occupation of Afrin was approved by Russia amid international silence, and it aimed at foiling the democratic project that is represented by federalism. Our project is the project of solving the Syrian crisis. The attacks that we were exposed to in Serê Kaniyê, Kobanî and Şangal were by the instructions of the Turkish state that aimed at thwarting this project."

Shahoz Hassen continued, "We can say that if the Kurdish Cause would not be solved, regional battles would be erupted in the Middle East. The aim of these hostile policies of the Turkish state with the support of Russia and Iran against the Kurdish people is to remove the Kurdish people from the Middle East and to thwart the democratic experience in Rojava which is led by the Democratic Union Party (PYD)."

Shahoz Hassen assured, "We will weaken the effect of the Turkish state on the opposition in Syria. Turkey considers our experience as a threat against its state."

Shahoz Hassen concluded that they would continue struggling to liberate Afrin city from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

During the meeting, several issues were discussed regarding the internal status of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) on the organizational level.
