Preparing alternative camp for refugees is underway in al-Tabqa

In a renewed confirmation that al-Tabqa area, liberated from Islamic State 's gangs (IS) by sacrifices of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, enjoys peace and security, the Office of Organization Affairs in al-Tabqa area has helped local and international organizations to build new camp to accommodate increasing numbers of refugees who headed toward searching for safe shelter. 

The new camp will be an alternative to al-Tuehina camp located in the northwestern countryside of al-Tabqa area.

The camp will receive refugees, mostly fleeing from areas occupied by the Syrian regime, especially in central and eastern Syria.

Al-Tabqa area is densely crowded with refugees from Deir-ez-Zor, the countrysides of Homs, Hama and Damascus, as well as those fleeing the practices of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the occupied areas of northern Syria.

The technical workshops are currently paving the ground of the camp, which is located north of al-Tabqa area about ​​13 km, estimated to be 80 acres. The camp is scheduled to accommodate 320 tents.

About 30 workers are working in the workshop, some now are equipping public health facilities as well as to the drainage channels of about 2km.

In a statement to one of the technical supervisors on this project, Ahmed Ghazi described the ongoing progress as good with the allocation of the largest number of machineries to pave the land of the camp.

It is hoped that the first stage of this camp will end in mid-June next to begin the second stage, including the installation of tents and the security of the camp before opening it to refugees.

It is worth mentioning that al-Tabqa area has already received thousands of displaced families, especially in al-Tuehina camp which opened mid-last year north-west of al-Tabqa area on the banks of the Euphrates.
