24 communes formed in western countryside of al-Karama area

The women in al-Karama area belonging to al-Raqqa city suffered from brutal practices of Islamic State's gangs (IS) where were robbed and deprived them of all their rights therefore, after liberating the area from (IS) State 's gangs during  "Wrath of the Euphrates" campaign launched by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to liberate the region, women are able once again run their own affairs by their free will, away from authoritarianism.

In the context of this organization and the activities of women for the purpose of training and awareness, the temporary councils of the Women's House formed 24 women's communes in the western countryside of al-Karama.

The Women's House in al -Karama area of  al-Raqqa  city after its opening on 5/12/2018, works to safeguard the rights of women who were deprived of them in previous years, especially during a period  dominated  by IS gangs .

For some time now, the Women's House has started to form women's communes to activate their role in building society, and to make their voice heard and secure their rights through commune to organize them.

The administrator in Women's House to al-Karama area and its countryside pointed at the beginning of her speech saying "Twenty-four women's communes were formed in al-Raqqa, al-Samra and al-Hamarat in the western countryside of al- Karama. Now we are forming the communes in the center of the Karama region."

Khawla stressed that women have the desire to form communes and said that " the women have suffered atrocities against them when the region was dominated by IS gangs  and after explaining the concept of communes to them, there is a good acceptance and desire for women to work within communes."

Khawla concluded by saying: "Women see in the commune her stolen will from the authoritarian mindset, and she can show her true personality to communicate their voice and claim their rights and solve their problems themselves by joining communes.”
