Solemn march in Greece to demand Ocalan's freedom

In the Greek capital of Athens, the Kurds staged a hunger strike to demand the freedom of the leader of the Kurdish people, Abdullah Ocalan, and denounce the isolation imposed on him in Imrali prison. The three-day event ended on Thursday with a mass rally.

The march launched in front of the Socrates Academy building towards the Greek parliament building. Participants in the march raised Kurdish flags, symbols and pictures of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocelan. Amid the chanting of slogans calling for the freedom of Ocelan and the resistance of Afrin, and denouncing the terror of the Turkish state.

The march was marked by speeches on behalf of the Kurdish-European Women's Movement, which was delivered by member of the movement Rokin Domar, in addition to the speech of the politician Matin Bencool. The words called on the European Committee Against Torture (CPT) to shoulder its responsibilities and visit Ocalan in Imrali prison and see his situation.

The words also pointed out that the massacres committed by the Turkish state in Afrin, Kobani, Sur, Jazeer and Nusaybin are a continuation of the international conspiracy against the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocelan.
