Today, the Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council in Raqqa, North and East Syria, issued a statement to the public regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.

The statement, read Inside the council building in Raqqa, was attended by council members and representatives from the  Al-bayt Association within the Democratic Islam Conference, followed by a speech from association member Asma Shaban.

Through the statement, the council expressed its full support for the campaign launched by women in Europe, aimed at delivering urgent humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, affirming that this noble initiative reflects a deep awareness of humanitarian responsibility toward the most vulnerable groups.

The statement called on the international community, as well as humanitarian and rights organizations, to take immediate action to provide necessary relief, food, and medical support, with particular attention to meeting the needs of women and children.

It also demanded pressure to lift the blockade on Gaza, facilitate the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and support efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council believes humanitarian solidarity is the strongest weapon in facing difficult circumstances, and stressed that it will continue to work vigorously to support the resilience of Gaza’s residents and alleviate their suffering.

Civil society organizations in 44 countries around the world have launched a unified international campaign under the slogan “For You,” in response to Israeli policies in Gaza, which have been characterized by collective punishment and starvation. The campaign aims to create popular and international pressure to urge leaders to take concrete action. It includes a series of events and programs over ten days, culminating in the launch of boats carrying humanitarian aid across the Mediterranean at the end of August.
