Women's Body discusses mechanisms for integration within state institutions

The Women's Body of Autonomous Administration held a meeting with the Syrian Body for Family and Population Affairs at the Body’s office in Damascus, as part of ongoing efforts to integrate the Autonomous Administration's institutions into state institutions.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Women's Body of the Autonomous Administration, Adalat Omar and Rohat Khalil, along with Jian Hassan, a member of the Integration Committee in Hasaka Governorate. Participants discussed mechanisms for coordination and joint work in the coming phase, aiming to strengthen the role of institutions concerned with women's, family, and population issues within a unified institutional framework.

The meeting addressed several issues related to the integration process, as well as ways to develop cooperation and exchange expertise between the two sides. This aims to enhance women's participation in various areas of institutional work and solidify the principles of partnership and integration in service delivery and administrative organization.

In a statement to ANHA agency, Jian Hassan, a member of the Integration Committee in Hasaka Governorate, explained that while the administrative institutions of the Autonomous Administration can be integrated into state institutions, the only institution within the Syrian state's institutional structure that is comparable to the Women's Body is the Commission for Family and Population Affairs

Jian Hassan added that the meeting with the Women's Body aimed to discuss these issues and the mechanisms for addressing them in the coming phase. She confirmed that the Body’s implementation steps within the Autonomous Administration would begin within a week, with the submission of lists containing the names and number of its members.

She also revealed plans to open an office called the Family and Population Body in June, explaining that they had proposed updating the name to "Women, Family, and Population Body." The Women's Body will then continue its work after the completion of the administrative procedures.
